For most single-window orders, the website calculates an instant price the moment you enter your measurements and select your options. A formal quotation becomes useful—and sometimes essential—in a different set of circumstances. Understanding which route is right for your project saves time and prevents miscommunication.

Do I need to request a quote, or can I just order directly online?

For the majority of standard orders, prices are displayed instantly on the website as you configure your product. You do not need to contact anyone or wait for a response.

A formal quotation is the better route in the following situations:

• Large or bulk orders where you want to confirm pricing before committing to multiple units
• Trade customers who need pricing against a trade account
• Complex installations involving unusual window configurations, motorised systems, or building automation integration
• Non-standard sizes or bespoke requirements that do not fit the standard online configurator
• Commercial or business projects with specific lead times, installation schedules, or contract requirements

How do I request a formal quote?

Three routes are available:

3. Live chat: Available on the website for quicker initial queries.

In-person consultations are not offered.

What information do I need to provide to get an accurate quote?

The more complete your brief, the faster and more accurate the response. Provide the following where possible:

• Number of windows or blinds required
• Dimensions for each window (width and drop in millimetres)
• Product type preferences
• Fabric or material preferences
• Installation type (recess or blind size)
• Delivery location and postcode
• Project timeline, if applicable

Photographs of your windows are not mandatory, but they are genuinely useful — particularly for complex installations, unusual window shapes, or any situation where the fitting method may not be straightforward. Floor plans or drawings can also be submitted if helpful.

Do not underestimate the value of photographs. In our experience, a single clear image of the window recess can resolve fitting questions that would otherwise require several email exchanges.

How quickly will I receive a quote?

• Within 24 hours: Where possible for emailed enquiries.
• Within 48 hours: Sometimes, depending on complexity.
• 3 to 5 business days: During peak periods for more complex or commercial projects.

How long is a quote valid for?

Quotations are valid for 28 days from the date of issue. After that period, prices may be subject to change. If your project timeline extends beyond 28 days, contact the team to request a refreshed quotation before proceeding.

Is a quote legally binding?

No. A quotation or estimate is not binding until it has been accepted, paid for, and is in production. There is no obligation to purchase after receiving a quote, and you are free to request modifications before committing.

Can I amend a quote before converting it to an order?

Yes. Contact the team member who provided the quotation — via customer.services@newblinds.co.uk or estimates@newblinds.co.uk — with your requested changes, and a revised figure will be issued.

How do I convert a quote into an order?

Once you are ready to proceed, the team will either

• Send a payment link via Stripe for card payment, or
• Issue a proforma invoice for payment by BACS transfer (typically used for trade customers and companies)

Quote your reference number or order name when communicating. Payment confirms acceptance and triggers production.

What about trade customers?
